After blogging almost every day for almost a month (27 posts in 29 days) I decided to skip Saturday. It was my 8 year old son’s birthday, so I was real busy for much of the day with his birthday party. As the designated BBQ chef, I was busy wrangling hot dogs and hamburgers for hungry kids and parents… I also ran into some technical difficulties with the material I was working on. I spent much of Saturday morning building and testing a new macro stand for shooting images specifically for stacking. I had planned to write blogs both on the building of the stand and the test shoot I did that day. Unfortunately, after shooting three series of pictures (over 100 images), and stacking them repeatedly, I couldn’t produce a good enough image. I have been trying to figure out what went wrong ever since. I think I have it resolved and will try to shoot again when I get home tonight, if I can.
But I did not intend to go two days without a blog and spent yesterday afternoon shooting and writing “Beauty (small magpie moth) and the beast (Venus flytrap): a close-up photo”. Unfortunately, when I went to upload the images and text last night I discovered that wordpress.com was having some technical problems and I couldn’t post. I stayed-up as late as I could hoping that things would be fixed, but finally had to give up and get some sleep, which is why the blog didn’t go up until this morning.
Sorry about that…
